The Arenas Valley Water Association is a registered non-profit organization, as-built in Dec, 1987. The Association is managed by a Board of Directors. We are a water utility serving our 460 members. Members are property owners in Arenas Valley who apply for water service to their property. A membership/connection fee is payable at the time of application for a new service. If a member sells their property, a transfer of membership will transfer that membership to the new property owner.
We purchase our water from the Town of Silver City for distribution to our members. From the point of distribution, we bill, collect, install, maintain, and repair. We hired a part-time certified water operator who reads the meters once a month and installs meters. The certified operator also performs major and minor repairs to our water system. The water usage billing is done after the meters are read each month. Bills are payable at the time the member receives the bill and become delinquent on the 25th of each month.
